Operations Associate

ChicoEco, Inc., home of the ChicoBag Company is helping humanity bag the single-use habit. Our vision is to create awareness and start positive conversations that connect people in solving the single-use waste problem. The Operations Associate works closely with the Operations Team to fulfill the company mission. This position reports to the Operations Manager. The Operations Associate interacts with various departments and co-workers to ensure products are received, stored, and shipped in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.

Job Requirements:

  • 1-year experience in warehousing, production, and/or shipping and receiving fields preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • LTL shipping experience is strongly preferred. International shipping is a plus as well.
  • Familiarity with stand-up electric-powered forklifts preferred, but not required. Internal training will be provided to ensure OSHA safety requirements are met.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, UPS Worldship, USPS (Endicia), FedEx Ship Manager and other online business shipping software is desired.
  • Knowledgeable in Salesforce or comparable ERP/CRM systems is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledgeable in general shipping & receiving and inventory control procedures.
  • Preference of knowledge and/or experience with printing techniques including dye sublimation.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Optimistic can-do approach.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented with the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
  • Excels at operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter that can prioritize and work independently.

  • Must be able to work in both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and perform the day-to-day warehouse functions.
  • Responsible for on-time shipments to customers.
  • Inspect inventory items for general quality control.
  • Perform physical inventory counts monthly and as required.
  • Support Company “norms” by maintaining vendor relationships, specifically with suppliers, shipping companies, and screen printers.
  • Apply labels and stickers to products as required.
  • Daily Production duties including printing, pressing and assembling finished products from raw materials and packaging.
  • Help load and unload trucks.
  • Support safety in the warehouse including lifting, maintaining safe floor conditions, and any policy from the handbook regarding the warehouse.
  • Keep facility clean and organized at all times.
  • Weigh and record waste, including cardboard, and dispose of in appropriate bins outside.
  • Provide tracking numbers and shipment costs as requested.
  • Provide shipping quotes and track indices as needed.
  • Create, monitor, and follow up on Customer Service Cases to ensure that appropriate information is recorded and actions are taken as needed to support the Customer Service team.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Attend Weekly Production and Company meetings as scheduled, and 1 on 1 meetings with management as needed.
  • Suggest and help implement procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy in outbound shipments to drive customer satisfaction.
  • Assist office staff as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
